Diary from the Ashes a documentary film by Yoav Potash

Imagine if Anne Frank’s diary had never been discovered—until today, when this aging handwritten record is miraculously delivered, unopened and untranslated, into the hands of a historical archivist in San Francisco. The feature documentary DIARY FROM THE ASHES will investigate the gripping mystery of such a long-lost diary, written in Nazi-occupied Poland not by Anne Frank, but by a 14-year-old girl named Rywka Lipszyc. Rywka tracked her hopes and dreams even as endured unspeakable hardship—and yet, her identity remained unknown for over 65 years.

DIARY FROM THE ASHES will track the tireless quest to determine the author’s fate, unearthing the saga of a young woman who used her imagination to cope with the unimaginable.

I must start from the beginning… the diary of Rywka Lipszyc December 30, 1943
